Petitions concerning GMOs and Food Safety On 16.03.11,
the Committee will discuss three petitions related to Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs).
Citizens are concerned that the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA) adequately lives up to its mission of ensuring that Europe's food is safe, that decisions to authorise cultivation of GMOs are based on independent scientific knowledge, not influenced by commercial interests.
